laura mercier caviar stick eye color in amethyst and sandglow

I have to confess, I have a lot of cream eyeshadows. It all started a while back with trying to find something quick and easy to throw on in the morning without any brushes. Unfortunately, a lot of cream eyeshadows are not that simple to use and I've found you still need a brush for smooth and even application. That is where the Laura Mercier Caviar Stick Eye Color ($24) comes in. I have these in Sandglow (shimmery gold taupe) and Amethyst (bronze purple).

These are some of THE BEST cream or cream stick eyeshadows that I have used. They really do glide on, and then the edges blend so easily with your finger. Primer is not even needed for the color to last around 8 hours, but it will go even farther with one. One small complaint is that they seem to stay a little "tacky" for me, especially at the inner side if my eyelid. A quick press of translucent powder solves this issue.

I love wearing Sandglow and Amethyst together, with Sandglow in the inner half and Amethyst on the outer half of my eye. Amethyst is just dark enough that it gives the extra definition in the crease. For an extra simple (read: I woke up late) look, Sandglow all over gives a brightening wash of color.

If you are looking for a high quality cream shadow that is incredibly easy to use, these really are a standard to hold others to.
